It's January 2—2016 crept up on me somehow. I'm ready for it although I'm not sure what happened to 2015. The thought of the New Year and all of its festivities felt a bit surreal to me this time around.

Words will never capture everything this woman meant to me.

Tonight was a good night. We didn't get to see my side of the family on Thanksgiving so tonight my brother and sister-in-law had us over for dessert. Her parents were there as were my mom and my other brother, sister-in-law and niece.

This trip ended with echoes of how it started.

Tonight we had dinner at my brother and sister-in-law's house. It was a chance to see Audrey, my new niece, but also just a chance to hang out with Adam and Annie. My other brother Steve and his wife Cait were also there.
